Devil Dogs and Other Messes

Here's some new stuff! Even my dog's aren't safe from screenprinting craziness. I'm trying to figure out a way (read: cheap way) to keep my stencils for reuse. The method I used for these prints is Mod-Podge painted on to make a stencil on a frame I stretched myself. Hmmm....back to the drawing board.

Sidenote: Jacob, Buddy the Dog and me all took a wonderful, long walk to Fred's so that I could buy some staples to stretch my frames. Then, off to Sonic for some surprises and then a leisurely walk back. It was perfect....I'm loving summer and vacation. We're heading to Memphis on Wednesday. Elvis better look out!

Screen Printing Madness!

Well now, here's my newest thing.....Screen Printing! Here are my various attempts from today...The stick godzilla at the top is Jacob's design....so far I'm loving it....and no blank shirt is safe around me....hahahaha

Just the same...got to get better at it...but, hey, I don't think I did to shabby for first attempts. And you know, I kinda like how the Handbag came out like that...

New Painting, Old Drawing

Here are some new things to gander at.....

For some reason I can imagine.......

The blind guide, Sybil leads through the Forest of Hands. She never loses her way...... she arrives at her tiny gray stone hut called The Moon House. It has a small garden beside the gate, the tall yellow stalks of corn ripening in the sun and a pair of goats graze on the hill above the hut....she pushes the door open revealing the dim, cool interior and she says, "Welcome..."


Do you enter?

Well, yes.....but what are they?

One hot summer day two friends decided to go sailing on the deep, blue sea. They saw a mermaid swimming by and they thought to themselves, "What a lucky duo are we!"

Altered Book Class and New Paintings

Here's what I've been up to lately...

The first image is my contribution to the library's recycled art program....you knew it'd be a book.

The next three photos are some recent paintings...

And finally the last photo is a picture from my altered book class for the library...I've taught a few classes on bookbinding for them....including instruction on folded page art and Japanese stab-binding...and there's been mention of having me come back and teach some more binding classes...I'll keep you informed.

But these kids were awesome...so creative and needed very little in the way of instruction. It was so much fun working with them.

Well, I'm looking forward to a peaceful, art-filled day and I hope your day is wonderful as well.
